Ingredients

  • Salt – to taste
  • 2 tsp water (only if needed)
  • Oil – for deep frying

For Manchurian Gravy

  • 1 tbsp ginger – finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic – finely chopped
  • 2–3 green chilies – finely chopped
  • ¼ cup spring onion (green leaves + bulb) – finely chopped
  • ¼ cup cabbage – finely chopped
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp green chili sauce
  • 1 tsp tomato ketchup
  • ½ tsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp cornflour + ¼ cup water (slurry)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt – to taste (use less, as soy sauce already has salt)

Method of Preparation

Step 1: Prepare the Manchurian Balls

  • In a bowl, add grated cabbage, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, coriander, salt, and cornflour.
  • Mix everything well into a sticky mixture. Add just 2 tsp water if needed.
  • Shape small round balls and keep them aside.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the balls until golden brown. Remove and drain on tissue paper.

Step 2: Prepare the Gravy

  • Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Add finely chopped ginger, garlic, green chilies, and spring onions. Sauté for a minute.
